Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) is a highly effective and versatile antioxidant. Because it is both water and fat-soluble, it can enter all parts of a cell to neutralize free radicals. ALA may also aid in regenerating vitamin E and other antioxidants after they have taken a "hit" from a free radical. ALA is primarily used to support optimal cardiovascular, mental, liver, ocular, and immune system health.

By boosting levels of the antioxidant glutathione, ALA has been shown to support the liver's detoxification process. As we age, our bodies stop producing lipoic acid.
